From Gerry Katz at the Boston Bluegrass Union:
BBU Presents Dale Ann Bradley in concert, Saturday, April 25th, Lexington, MA
Greetings from the BBU –
We’re pleased to present the Dale Ann Bradley Band along with Laura Orshaw and the New Velvet Band in concert at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington, MA on Saturday, April 25th.
Dale Ann’s has been a longtime favorite of BBU audiences. Her last visit to the area was a highlight performance at the 2014 Joe Val Bluegrass Festival as part of Sister Sadie. She’ll be back this time with her own band, showcasing her wonderful vocal work backed by a our longtime friend Phil Leadbetter the 2005 IBMA Dobro Player of the Year, along with Scott Powers (mandolin), Stuart Wyrick (banjo), and Tim Dishman (bass). Dale Ann is a five-time IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year and has been described by Music Row magazine as a “gentle mountain songbird with a shimmering delivery.”
Laura Orshaw and the New Velvet Band’s sound driven by Laura’s powerful vocal styling and weaves in the inventive instrumental talents of Tony Watt (guitar), Catherine “BB” Bowness (banjo), Matthew Witler (mandolin), and Alex Muri (upright bass). Individually, these players have taken the Boston-area bluegrass scene by storm, but as the New Velvet Band they have fused their musical aptitudes to craft a vibrant and mature sound in the wider bluegrass world.
It all promises to be a great evening of music. Further details on the show, including online ticket purchase at www.bbu.org
I hope to see you there,
Gerry

Let me add that I still remember Dale Ann playing in Sumptuous Studio B many years ago. She was as charming and gracious as she was an amazing vocalist. She has, of course, a standing invitation. Dale Ann’s website is HERE.
Also, I am entranced by Laura Orshaw’s new album, and have been playing it a lot on HAH. She’ll certainly have copies for sale at the show. Laura’s website is HERE. /CL
UPDATE: Laura Orshaw and ace guitarist Tony Watt will be on Hillbilly at Harvard Saturday, sometime between 10 AM and noon. Tune in!
