David Johnson, Author of Stanley Brothers Biography, Coming to HAH on the 26th

© University Press of Mississippi

I’m looking forward to chatting with David Johnson, author of the just-released Lonesome Melodies: The Lives and Music of the Stanley Brothers, on the show tomorrow.  He’s coming down from New Hampshire.  We’ll probably spend an hour or more talking about Ralph and Carter and playing some of their tunes, between 10 AM and noon.  David spent a long time researching this work, and knows a tremendous amount about the Stanley family history and the recording history of The Stanley Brothers, favorites at HAH for lo! these many decades.  /CL

UPDATE: David was perhaps too modest to mention (or simply forgot to) that he has a website of his own:

http://lonesomemelodies.com/index.html

Check it out!  /CL

UPDATE 2: David reports on the Paper and Pen page that the paperback edition of Lonesome Melodies is now available.
